Happy Valentine’s Day

Today is Valentine’s Day, a day to show others that you appreciate having them in your life.

How wonderful it is that we have friends in this life.  Friends are there for you when you are sad or going through something difficult, they enjoy being around you just because of who you are, they love and support you through both your ups and your downs.

The world would be a sad place without friends.  It is so nice to share things with others.  You enjoy them more that way!  A friend can help you see something from a different perspective, put new light on something, open new worlds to explore or create.

And how wonderful it is when you find that special friend, someone who will love you forever, go through thick and thin with you, cheer you on when you have something hard to do, comfort you when you go through trials, stick with you even when you have a bad day, be understanding of you so your bad day doesn’t have to stay bad, appreciate your little idiosyncrasies, tell you (kindly) when you have done something you shouldn’t have, and forgive you readily.

Of course, you do the same for them.  That makes for a wonderful relationship.

And you keep that person foremost in your life.  You don’t let anything or anyone else become more important to you than they are.  You are the first to say you are sorry, the first to forgive them, the first to overlook their ingratitude or thoughtlessness because you realize that you have also been guilty of those things.  Mostly you look for the good and positive in that person and in your relationship with them.  There is enough sorrow in the world without always dwelling on past hurts or mistakes.  Besides, you hate to be reminded of your past shortcomings so why do that to someone else?

I am so very blessed to have a very special man in my life.  Beloved hubby and I have had many adventures, many ups and downs.  But we have tried to be there for each other, especially during the rough spots.  We have grown in love over the years and feel closer than we ever dreamed we could.  We have laughed together, cried together, prayed together.  Our love of God has helped us see life from a higher plane and not get endlessly stuck in the mire of a single problem.

Our faith in God has brought us to heights otherwise unattainable, for Father in Heaven blesses those who love and honor Him.  We are better people for following His commandments and striving to follow Christ.

I wish you as much success and happiness.  Happy Valentine’s Day!  🙂
