Inspirational Sacrament Meeting Last Sunday

What a beautiful, and moving, Sacrament Meeting we had Sunday. The theme was about prophets, and both the spoken word and the music helped bring the spirit of God into that meeting and strengthened my testimony of prophets.

The opening hymn, “Come, Listen to a Prophet’s Voice” , stirred my soul, and I found myself singing with gusto:

“Come, listen to a prophet’s voice,

And hear the word of God,

And in the way of truth rejoice,

And sing for joy aloud.

We’ve found the way the prophets went

Who lived in days of yore.

Another prophet now is sent

This knowledge to restore…”

How blessed we are to not only know about the prophets of old, but to have a living prophet on the earth today. President Thomas S. Monson receives direct revelation from the Lord to guide and direct the church today.  It is such a comfort to know that we have access to know Heavenly Father’s will, and that He knows how we can avoid the pitfalls and not be tossed to and fro with every theory that society can devise.  We can stand firm in the knowledge of eternal truth and hold fast to the iron rod that leads us safely through all confusion, misconceptions, and falsehoods so prevalent in the world.

I know that Heavenly Father is real, that He lives and loves us all. We are His children and He wants us to know the right things to do and the way to return back to Him along with our families and loved ones.  He gave us the scriptures to be our guide so we do not have to wander about, wondering where to find truth.  And He calls prophets to help us prepare for that which is coming and to show us the way to true joy and happiness.
