It Isn’t Hard to Be Patient With People

Do you think it is hard to be patient with people?  I believe it isn’t that hard – you just have to change the way you think about it.

We usually feel impatient when we are thinking about ourselves – You are wasting my time, my money, my whatever.

But what happens when we change our thinking?  Suddenly we realize that an interruption, a detour, a need, or even a change of plans is not the end of the world.  And don’t we want courtesy if we’re the ones who suddenly need to interrupt, detour, take care of a need, or change the plans?

Then we can stay in our good place and be patient with people with whatever is going on.  And life is much happier, calmer, peaceful, joyful, and usually moves right on along – much quicker than if we had gotten ourselves all worked up about it.  🙂

When have you been patient with someone and how did you feel?

It’s Time to Protect The Children

It is high time that we thought about protecting the children again.  Especially in The United States of America things have degenerated to the point of spending incredible amounts of time, energy, and money on which bathrooms they should use, criminalizing those who are trying to catch child predators, and de-criminalizing child predatory acts!

President Obama, the United States Senate and House of Representatives, Governors such as Jerry Brown, State Senates and Houses of Representatives, local governments, and even the citizens themselves have not only allowed, but actually orchestrated these evil and immoral acts to be protected and to thrive in our country.

They are ignoring the many ways the children are molested, injured, exploited, and manipulated rather than setting up laws, and expectations, that will protect, guard, care for, and defend them.

This environment must be changed.  Children are our Nation’s greatest treasure.  They are our most vulnerable assets.  And they are Heavenly Father’s greatest blessings – to our families and to our future.

What person is there who, looking into the small, innocent, delicate face of a newborn, is not moved by a tender warm thought or feeling from deep within?  It may seem inexplicable, yet it is there.

It is time to think on that feeling, which God, Himself, planted into the soul of every person throughout time, and let it guide us in making right the things we must change so that children will have the opportunity to grow up happy, healthy, and free of oppression.

The really great thing is – once you create a safe environment for the children, the entire level of society will be raised up as well.  We will all have a better life!  🙂

What is one thing you can do today to move forward that process?

Where To Turn For Peace

The more I hear about what is going on in the world, all over our country, and locally, the more concerned I become about the state of things.  Now granted, most of this comes from the sources that I’m getting my information from as those tend to show the darker and more despairing side of life.  I realize that they do not tell the full story!

I know there is also much good going on in the world, all over our country, and locally.  You have to turn to other sources to get that information.  So, where to turn for peace?

The environment and outcomes that are the consequence of society’s and government’s choices over the last few decades has burdened people everywhere and created dire conditions for many, especially the poor, the vulnerable, the innocent, etc.

Peace is found first, within ourselves.  As we do the things that lead to peace, such as turn our hearts to God, the Great Creator of All Things, Who knows how to bring peace to the world, we begin to feel His comforting and caring Spirit within ourselves.  And then we can begin to share that with our families, friends, and communities, and watch as it begins to spread forth bringing more and more blessings to those in need.

And we can look around for the good that is happening and bring those things into our lives and share them with others.

And we can work to hold those accountable who should be standing up for the children and the innocent.  Society has become too selfish for too long.  No wonder it is what it is today.  Can one really wonder why our laws are so convoluted and full of loopholes?  Why death and destruction are increasing exponentially?  Why people have lost their sense of right and wrong, of chivalry, generosity, sacrificing for others, doing our part to make the world a better place?

Let’s find the good things in life, then help spread their influence, and bring about true peace, starting with ourselves.  🙂

What have you seen or experienced that will help you in this quest?

New Year Musings

It is the beginning of a new year – 2017!  I am looking forward to this year.

One big reason I look forward to this year is because Donald Trump will become President of the United States of America.  I see his election as mainstream America stepping forward to say we have had enough of the triviality and insanity of the social and political realm that have engulfed our country, not only for the last 8 years, but indeed, for several decades.

I look forward to our country becoming better grounded, and moving forward to where everyone is valued and respected, not just those who belong to certain, divisive groups.  To where people are taught to control themselves and their emotions, to lift others and help them, and to be free to experience and learn about the infinite blessings that come when they choose to follow God’s rules and reap the natural consequences of those actions.

Just as parents lovingly teach their children how to be safe and happy by setting up rules that promote those ends, our Father in Heaven has set up parameters that help us learn where safety is and how we can achieve true happiness.  It is not a secret, or unknown, path.

It has been laid out before us, and we have the God-given gift to choose what we will do with it.  I feel that freedom is part of makes 2017 a year to look forward to!  🙂
