It’s Time to Protect The Children

It is high time that we thought about protecting the children again.  Especially in The United States of America things have degenerated to the point of spending incredible amounts of time, energy, and money on which bathrooms they should use, criminalizing those who are trying to catch child predators, and de-criminalizing child predatory acts!

President Obama, the United States Senate and House of Representatives, Governors such as Jerry Brown, State Senates and Houses of Representatives, local governments, and even the citizens themselves have not only allowed, but actually orchestrated these evil and immoral acts to be protected and to thrive in our country.

They are ignoring the many ways the children are molested, injured, exploited, and manipulated rather than setting up laws, and expectations, that will protect, guard, care for, and defend them.

This environment must be changed.  Children are our Nation’s greatest treasure.  They are our most vulnerable assets.  And they are Heavenly Father’s greatest blessings – to our families and to our future.

What person is there who, looking into the small, innocent, delicate face of a newborn, is not moved by a tender warm thought or feeling from deep within?  It may seem inexplicable, yet it is there.

It is time to think on that feeling, which God, Himself, planted into the soul of every person throughout time, and let it guide us in making right the things we must change so that children will have the opportunity to grow up happy, healthy, and free of oppression.

The really great thing is – once you create a safe environment for the children, the entire level of society will be raised up as well.  We will all have a better life!  🙂

What is one thing you can do today to move forward that process?

New Year Musings

It is the beginning of a new year – 2017!  I am looking forward to this year.

One big reason I look forward to this year is because Donald Trump will become President of the United States of America.  I see his election as mainstream America stepping forward to say we have had enough of the triviality and insanity of the social and political realm that have engulfed our country, not only for the last 8 years, but indeed, for several decades.

I look forward to our country becoming better grounded, and moving forward to where everyone is valued and respected, not just those who belong to certain, divisive groups.  To where people are taught to control themselves and their emotions, to lift others and help them, and to be free to experience and learn about the infinite blessings that come when they choose to follow God’s rules and reap the natural consequences of those actions.

Just as parents lovingly teach their children how to be safe and happy by setting up rules that promote those ends, our Father in Heaven has set up parameters that help us learn where safety is and how we can achieve true happiness.  It is not a secret, or unknown, path.

It has been laid out before us, and we have the God-given gift to choose what we will do with it.  I feel that freedom is part of makes 2017 a year to look forward to!  🙂

Suddenly, Political Involvement Sounds Like Fun

With the election of President-elect Trump, politics are actually starting to sound fun to me.  That’s quite a stretch, because I always considered politics to be an incredibly slow and mundane process.  I was amazed that anything actually ever got done.

Then politics took a huge, 180 degree turn, and society started not only radically shifting Its language, policies, and measures, totally opposite from what I thought, felt, and believed, but It went so far as to criticize and negatively label things that were near and dear to my heart.  It decided that I and the majority of people in this country were wrong, and It took legal action against anyone and anything that disagreed with what It wanted!

People were forced to abide by a new set of standards, and differing beliefs and ideas became feared and ridiculed rather than discussed and celebrated.  I believe children would gain greater respect for others, and personal inner strength, if taught in school about the various and diverse religious beliefs in the world.  They would not fear others because they would understand them better.  This would only enrich their lives, and help them be better grounded and more prepared for life.  That is something to celebrate!

If love of country and respect for the flag were taught and exemplified in society people would have something to be proud of.  They would be willing to defend it, and in turn stand up for the poor and underserved.  We need this in our lives in order to be a whole person, as there is something missing inside us otherwise.

And what about race and gender?  Most religious beliefs teach that people are equal, that they have a relationship with God and with each other, and that when we live moral and ethical lives, not only will we be blessed but others will be blessed as well.  Suddenly equality becomes the norm and bigotry goes away.

We have so much more in common than not.  It is time to bring back that commonality and reap the many blessings that follow.

When have you seen evidence of this in your life?

Violent Protests Destroy Your Message

I understand that half the country is disappointed in the outcome of the Election.  I realize that when you are disappointed, you can feel the need to react – to do something about the way you are feeling.

However, if you decide to protest and turn to violence, you destroy the very message you were seeking to put across!

Violent protest isn’t a protest at all – it is outright bullying and oppression, trying to force your will on others.  It moves you from the stance of victim to the realm of tyrant and indeed, terrorist.  No one has the right to terrorize others.

Perhaps the most effective protestor in modern history, Mahatma Gandhi, not only eschewed violence from his life, but was also careful to screen those he allowed to join his protests to ensure their non-violence.  The world was presented the startling difference between those in his movement and their oppressors.  His followers were whipped, beaten down with sticks, and even shot by the British while returning these atrocities with polite protest.  Gandhi helped to free a nation.  Those who are rioting today will never be able to make that same claim.

Personally, I look forward to the change President-elect Trump will bring to our country.  There are a lot of things that have changed over the last few decades that have taken us further and further into the gutter rather than allowing us to spread our wings and fly.

I’m Excited That Donald Trump Won the Election!

I am very happy that Donald Trump has been elected as our next President.  He stands for change, getting rid of things that have gotten so out-of-hand in our country.  That is why I do like him.

Society has become more and more broken by special interests and divisive factions.  I believe Trump will rein them in and allow common sense, truth, and freedom to come to the fore once again.

I look forward to gaining more religious freedom again, and to spending our time, energy, and money on worthy causes.  As we allow people to believe in and worship God, we will see amazing progress.  This is a natural by-product of faith and keeping God’s commandments (which is exactly why He gave us the commandments, because they bless us).  🙂

I am not looking for new legislation and policies so much as doing away with the bad ones.  That’s all I ask.  There is no way to legislate away every possible negative in life.  It is much easier and beneficial to set high standards that help and allow people to grow.

Let’s decrease the size of government and give us back the freedom to live good and righteous lives.

I look forward to tracking what Trump does as President and how it works out.  I just might want to become involved to help things along!

How about you?
