Work

What do you think when you hear the word “Work”?

Do words such as “hard”, “unpleasant”, “don’t want to”, or “no way” come to mind?  Work can have a stigma attached to it.

But I have found that:

Work can be a blessing!

And really, I should say that work is a blessing.  Why?

• Good things happen when you work at something.
• Work can be a relief from boredom, stress, or discouragement.
• Work is a blessing!  Do you know that the Bible mentions the word work 612 times, and in the full body of scriptures (Bible, Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants, and Pearl of Great Price) it is listed 1, 27 times!
• Work helps lift your spirits, probably because you are accomplishing something!

And what does God (Heavenly Father) say that His work is?  “For behold, this is my work and my glory – to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.”  Moses 1:39 in the Pearl of Great Price.

Wow.  Of course, what else would His work be but everything He can do to help His children (us) to return to Him?  🙂
